Barton-upon-Humber sits at this branch’s northern edge, at the south end of the Humber Bridge. It is a town with its own Neighbourhood Plan, its own GP list, and its own say in how it grows. Restore Britain covers Barton as part of South Humber — not as a suburb of Scunthorpe, and not as an afterthought to Grimsby.
Restore Britain is a UK-wide party. This page is for people in Barton, Barrow and the north bank-edge villages who want to join nationally and organise locally.
James Sutton is the appointed Branch Organiser. This branch stops at Barton and Brigg. It does not cover Scunthorpe or north of Scunthorpe.
What is happening in Barton-upon-Humber
- Housing and the GP list: outline permission for up to 390 homes south of Horkstow Road was granted on appeal. Persimmon has put in detailed plans for 388. A separate scheme for about 196 homes off Barrow Road has been refused. Residents have kept raising the GP list in Barton.
- Neighbourhood Plan: in November 2025 residents backed it by about 90 per cent. North Lincolnshire Council adopted it in December. Decisions made for Barton should start from that.
- Humber Bridge safety works: raised barriers were approved in 2025. Detailed design then found the original wire system cannot be anchored at some points, including the Barton tower.
- Asylum support: Barton is in North Lincolnshire. The official total is 74 people on support for the whole council (31 March 2026), including Scunthorpe. There is no Barton-only Home Office figure.
Sourced write-ups: housing, Neighbourhood Plan, Humber Bridge, asylum numbers.
